Back in 2003 Sonar Kollektiv dropped an LP that stopped us in our tracks. Soulhack by Forss was a revelation. A master class in sample manipulation, laptop edits, and the power of the internet to source material. Combining the craftsmanship displayed on DJ Shadow's "Endtroducing" and the stream of consciousness approach to structure that Prefuse 73 became renowned for, Soulhack was an instant classic.

So it is with great pleasure that we present to you Paradigm Shift. A track that in many ways sums up the recurring themes present within Soulhack. It's at this point we let Fross himself introduce the track in question.

"Paradigm Shift is really just a massive patchwork of numerous samples, many taken from drifting mp3s on the net. In particular, I stole the sample in which Lawrence Lessig asks the question whether "someone who cuts and pastes something from the net is a consumer or a producer" from a random Internet radio stream. Shame on me. Sampling/Rip-Mix-Burn/Cut'n'Paste or whatever you like to call it, is I believe, a very important cornerstone of modern (maybe all?) culture. That's why I'm now handing these samples over to you, so that the creative process can go on! Enjoy!"
